Surface preparation
The surface must be clean, dry, even, load-bearing, and prepared in accordance with the above-mentioned requirements. New cement screeds or concrete substrates must be at least 28 days old. Contaminants and substances that negatively affect adhesion must be removed. Irregularities and defects deeper than 1 mm, as well as areas around engineering service outlets, should be pre-leveled using reinforced filler “FlexSpachtel”. To prevent contamination or in case of existing mold, mildew, algae, or fungi, it is recommended to use “BiozidGrund”.
Material preparation
“AquaGrund” is a ready-to-use dispersion primer. Thoroughly mix the contents of the container using a low-speed mixer. No dilution is required when applied to dense substrates. When applied to highly absorbent substrates, “AquaGrund” must be diluted with water in a ratio of 1:3.
Application
To achieve a dense, continuous coating, apply evenly using a brush, ensuring there are no gaps caused by substrate defects. For control of material consumption and layer thickness, the primer has a blue color.
Further processing
After 6–12 hours following the application of the “AquaGrund” layer, apply the first layer of waterproofing “1K HydroFlex” using appropriate tools, in accordance with the recommendations provided in the technical documentation for “1K HydroFlex”.
