The Illusion plaster represents one type of decorative wall finish. It boasts an original effect that imitates velvet, wet silk, Chinese silk, or velour, depending on the application style. Such an effect is achieved by incorporating metallic pigments into its composition.

Key Characteristics of the Illusion Decorative Finish

The Illusion decorative paint is optimal for interior spaces such as bedrooms, children's rooms, living rooms, hallways, and more. Depending on the level and type of wall treatment, various textures and effects resembling noble textures can be achieved.

The standout feature of this wall paint lies in its visual perception. Each stroke applied to the wall reflects light rays differently. Consequently, the overall appearance of the coating presents a unique interplay of light and shadow. Particularly effective when used in rooms with large floor-to-ceiling windows that offer ample natural lighting.

The decorative Illusion plaster possesses these characteristics:

  • Versatility: It can be applied to a wide range of surfaces—from walls to certain interior items and even ceilings.
  • Moisture resistance: The material exhibits good resistance to moisture, suitable for moderate humidity environments.
  • Ease of cleaning: The plaster allows washing with non-abrasive cleaning agents using soft tools.
  • Safety: The paint composition lacks toxic elements, heavy metals like chrome and lead, as well as chlorine-based solvents.
  • Durability: Once applied, the plaster adheres firmly and withstands long-term use without chipping or flaking.

To maintain the coating's color and prevent deformation over time, it's essential to maintain the correct temperature range. The indoor temperature should not fall below +5 degrees Celsius or exceed +36 degrees Celsius at any time of the year.

Illusion: Features of Work

Preparation Stage

To ensure the decorative paint adheres well, it's necessary to prepare the surface where it will be applied. Before the plaster covers the walls, the primary stages of room renovation should be completed, including window installation, ceiling painting, tile laying, and floor preparation for installation. And of course, the walls need preparation for finishing.

Firstly, clean the wall surface from dirt, dust, and debris, then apply a primer. The primer will enhance adhesion and strengthen the wall, preventing material cracking over time.

The surface for plastering should not be damp (humidity level not exceeding 10%), and the room itself should not be cold. It's better to work during the spring and summer seasons.

Applying Illusion to Walls

Before applying the coating, thoroughly mix the material with a mixer. Then add the pigments selected from the catalog and mix the coating again using the mixer.

Apply the paint from bottom to top. It's crucial to ensure the layers are even, without traces or overlaps. Leave the first layer to dry completely for a day, then apply a second layer. During this stage, textures are created—strokes in different directions, forming patterns and designs. Once the second layer slightly sets, pressing it with a spatula is recommended for a brighter coating.

Elf Decor's Illusion Decorative Plaster

Illusion by Elf Decor presents a smooth wall coating with a unique shimmer formed due to the presence of silver and gold-colored granules in its composition.

The main feature of our coating lies in its enhanced durability after application on surfaces, resulting in a longer lifespan.

Our production's Illusion decorative coating comes in several bases—silver, gold, and white gold respectively, offering different effects after finishing. There are also special bases for this material—Illusion Crystal and Illusion Crystal Matt, incorporating ground glass, and a special collection called Illusion Fantasy, featuring 5 additional vibrant and striking colors.

Moreover, this decorative coating looks particularly exquisite in interiors as it changes its shade depending on light and viewing angles. Also, depending on the skill of the specialist applying the plaster, different patterns and designs can be achieved.

In conclusion, it's worth noting that Illusion decorative plaster complements various interiors and styles. Its use allows for creating an original, individual room design that will last for years regardless of where it's applied.
