The surface must be clean, dry, even, capable of bearing load, and comply with preparation requirements. Contaminants and substances negatively affecting adhesion should be removed, and irregularities or chips should be leveled with appropriate materials, such as "KlebeMasse KM 193".
Elfloor Epoxy Primer is a two-component product. Component A - modified epoxy resin, Component B - water dispersion of modified polyamides, carbonate filler, functional additives.
Mixing components in a ratio of 1:2 (by weight) is carried out immediately before application. Component A is added to the container with Component B, after which the mixture is stirred using a hand mixer or a mechanical mixer at low speed until homogeneous. If necessary, viscosity adjustment can be done by adding water followed by re-mixing.
ATTENTION! During storage, Component A (epoxy resin) tends to cloudiness and crystallization. In this case, before use, the container with Component A should be placed in a water bath at a temperature of 50-60 °C until the crystals are completely melted and the resin is homogenized.
Application is done with a brush, roller, or spatula in an even layer. If necessary, Elfloor Epoxy Primer can be used for adhering woven reinforcing fiberglass mesh, with a density of 90-160 g/m2. For this purpose, the mesh is applied onto the freshly applied primer layer, pressed firmly with a brush or spatula, then an additional layer of Elfloor Epoxy is applied to fully cover the fiberglass mesh. The mesh should be applied edge to edge, avoiding layer overlapping. If the substrate is strong enough or previously reinforced, the mesh is not required.
If it's necessary to provide the primer layer with necessary roughness, it's recommended to add quartz sand fraction 0.2 mm to the ready-to-use mixture of components A and B in an amount of 20-25% of the mixture mass, thoroughly mix, and then apply in the usual manner.
