The surface must be clean, dry, capable of bearing the load, and prepared according to the specified requirements. Contaminants and substances that reduce paint adhesion to the substrate—such as oil and grease stains, lubricants, bituminous mastics, previous unstable paint coatings, efflorescence, and weak areas—must be removed. Fresh cement plaster should be allowed to cure for at least 28 days. Cracks on the surface should be widened and filled with the finishing filler FassadenSpachtel D200 Plus.
Strong alkyd and oil-based coatings should be sanded and dusted off. Highly absorbent surfaces need to be primed with materials such as the fixing primer “UniGrund” or primer concentrate “GrundKonzentrat.” Highly alkaline surfaces are recommended to be primed with “VinylGrund D14.” To prevent or address existing mold, mildew, algae, or fungi, use “BiozidGrund.”
“Facade” is a ready-to-use dispersion paint. Thoroughly mix the contents of the container using a low-speed mixer. If necessary, adjust the consistency by diluting the paint with water. Water should be added to each bucket in the same amount to avoid color discrepancies.
Apply “Facade” in two layers, evenly distributing it across the surface.
First layer—paint may be diluted with up to 10% water.
Second layer—paint should not be diluted.
The choice of tool depends on the surface texture and the speed of application. Use a roller, brush, or spray gun for application.
